If you have Matric and an Enrolled Nurse or Enrolled Nursing Assistant qualification, there is an important pathway you should know about Recognition of Prior Learning.
This route may allow you to gain access into a Diploma or Degree in Nursing without starting your journey from the beginning.
Who qualifies for RPL?
You may qualify if:
You have Matric with a good APS score
You are a registered EN or ENA
You have nursing experience and clinical exposure
How the RPL process works.
When institutions open applications, you must apply specifically for the RPL stream.
If your application is accepted, you will enter a one-year RPL academic preparation program.
During this year, you will:
Receive structured study material
Complete guided learning tasks
Build a Portfolio of Evidence which includes:
Your CV
A detailed personal profile
Your work history
Written academic tasks
You will also:
Write an evaluation test
Have your Portfolio of Evidence and test results assessed for academic readiness
If you meet the required standard, you may be granted entry directly into the nursing program.
